SOUTH Belgrave put on a spectacular performance to take out the 2014 under-14 premiership at Woori Yallock on Sunday, with a 63-point victory over Mount Evelyn.
The 2014 flag makes if four in a row for the team that opposition coach Glen Burton credited as an up-and-coming dynasty for South Belgrave football.
The boys came out running, keeping Mount Evelyn scoreless in the first quarter and never released the pressure – increasing their lead every quarter.
DRJFL president John Meyers congratulated the team on the “beautiful running style” and said their hand-ball was second to none.
South Belgrave coach joked that he wouldn’t go so far as to call his boys “beautiful”.
“There are some ugly ones among them … but they work beautifully as a team,” he said to enthusiastic applause.
“Four in a row is fantastic.”
Best-on-ground went to Josh Westcott.
The final scores were South Belgrave 10.16 (76) to Mount Evelyn 2.1 (13).
