MOUNT Evelyn under-11s took to heart the lessons of defeat in the semi-final against Healesville two weeks ago and came out with a determination to win, according to their coach Daniel Thiele.
The boys met the Healesville Bloods in the DRJFL grand final at Woori Yallock on Sunday and came away with a convincing 25-point win.
“Our boys were disappointed in that semi. They took that on board, really defended well today and I think that made the difference,” he said.
He said they had trained to a high level using trials used in senior football and had done extremely well.
“You should be absolutely pumped as a team because it’s a great team effort,” he said.
The final scores were Mount Evelyn 5.6 (36) to Healesville 1.5 (11).
