Occupant hit, cash removed
AN aggravated burglary in Lilydale last week is being investigated by police.
Two males wearing balaclavas entered a property in Winnetka Drive and struck the male occupant with a blunt object before leaving with money.
The victim was taken to hospital with lacerations to his head but was released shortly after.

 

Two netted after police pursuit
A POLICE pursuit in Kilsyth ended in two men being arrested and interviewed on Thursday.
Yarra Range CIU Detective Sergeant Mark Smithwick, who was part of the pursuit, said police noticed the car had stolen number plates and when they motioned for the driver to pull over, it ended with a pursuit in Canterbury Road.
The car was dumped, and one of the men was arrested later that day, and the other was arrested on Friday morning.
The 28-year-old Boronia man was charged with drug offences including ice, as well as theft of number plates and handling stolen goods.
The 24-year-old Lilydale man was charged with theft, theft of number plates and driving offences.
Both were bailed to appear at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on 27 January 2015.

 

Horse thefts lead to charges
A LOCAL farrier has been charged in relation to a number of horse thefts in the Coldstream and Gruyere area.
The 36-year-old Kilsyth man faces a number of counts of burglary and theft.
Yarra Range CIU Detective Sergeant Mark Smithwick said police had been able to recover most of the property as the man had been very co-operative with police.
He was charged and bailed to appear at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

 

Copper theft charges laid
A 25-YEAR-OLD Ferntree Gully man has been charged in relation to a number of copper thefts in Olinda in August this year.
The man was bailed to appear at the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on 21 January 2014.
